  • A roundtable on the role of migration and remittances in the climate change adaptation policy in Pakistan will be organized at the Serena Hotel, Islamabad, on 21 November. This roundtable will be jointly organized by the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), International Organization for Migration (IOM), and Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC).

  • A roundtable on the role of migration and remittances in the climate change adaptation policy in Nepal was organized at the Nepal Planning Commission, Kathmandu, on 27 October. This roundtable was jointly organized by the Nepal Planning Commission, International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), and International Organization for Migration (IOM).The participants included representatives from the Nepal Planning Commission (NPC), Ministry of Environment (MoE), Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE), and Ministry of Women, Child and Social Welfare (MoWCSW).

  • A training manual design workshop for the action research to build adaptive capacity of the migrant sending households in flood affected rural communities was organized at the ICIMOD HQ, Kathmandu, on 21 October. This workshop was organized by the ICIMOD's Rural Livelihoods and Climate Change Adaptation in the Himalayas Programme (Himalica). The participants included representatives from the Swayam Sikshan Prayog (SSP), Nepal Institute of Development Studies (NIDS), World Wildlife Fund’s Gilgit Office, and International Organization for Migration’s Nepal Country Office (IOM-Nepal).

  • A local stakeholder consultation on the action research to build the adaptive capacity of the migrant sending households in the flood affected rural communities was organized in North Lakhimpur, Assam, on 16 October. This meeting was being jointly organized by the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), Kathmandu, and Institute of Integrated Resource Management (IIRM), Tezpur. The feedback received from the meeting participants was used to finalize the action research design and monitoring framework for the action research in the Lakhimpur district, Assam.

  • A workshop to discuss the action research design to build the adaptive capacity of the migrant sending households in the flood affected rural communities was organized by the ICIMOD in Kathmandu on 28 March. This workshop was jointly organized by the ICIMOD's Rural Livelihoods and Climate Change Adaptation in the Himalayas Programme (Himalica) and Himalayan Climate Change Adaptation Programme (HICAP). The feedback received from the workshop participants was used to refine the action research design, and monitoring and evaluation framework for India, Nepal, and Pakistan.
